SIM Swap
A scam where someone steals your phone number to access your accounts.
A SIM Swap happens when a scammer tricks your mobile provider
into transferring your phone number to their own SIM card.
Once they control your number, they can reset passwords and
bypass SMS-based 2FA to steal your accounts — including crypto wallets.
Why it matters
- SMS 2FA can be easily hijacked
- Attackers can access email, exchanges, and wallets
- It’s one of the most common ways crypto accounts get hacked
💡 Lanzo Tip
Use authenticator apps or passkeys instead of SMS 2FA.
And never share personal info with anyone claiming to be from your mobile provider.
