Passphrase (25th Word)
An optional extra word that adds another layer of security to your crypto wallet.
A Passphrase, sometimes called the 25th word,
is an optional extra word or sentence you can add
on top of your seed phrase (the 12–24 recovery words).
It acts like a hidden key that creates a completely new wallet
— even if someone already knows your original seed phrase.
Why it matters
- Adds an extra layer of protection in case your seed phrase is leaked
- Lets you create “decoy” wallets to hide your main funds
- Used by advanced users who want maximum privacy and security
You must remember your passphrase exactly —
if you lose it, you lose access to that wallet forever.
💡 Lanzo Tip
Write your passphrase separately from your seed phrase
and never store them together — treat it like your master key 🗝️
