Mainnet
The live blockchain network where real-value transactions happen.
A Mainnet is the real, fully functional blockchain network
where actual crypto transactions take place using real assets.
When a project first starts, it often tests features on a Testnet —
a fake version of the blockchain with valueless tokens.
Once everything works smoothly, it’s launched on the Mainnet.
Example
- Ethereum Mainnet — where real ETH is traded.
- Bitcoin Mainnet — where BTC transactions are final and public.
- Polygon Testnet (Mumbai) → becomes Polygon Mainnet once live.
Why it matters
- Mainnet = production environment with real money.
- It’s where validators, miners, and users interact for real.
- Launching a Mainnet means the project is live and independent,
no longer relying on test systems.
💡 Lanzo Tip
Always double-check if you’re on Mainnet or Testnet before sending crypto.
Sending real tokens to a test network (or vice versa) can mean permanent loss ⚠️
