Halving

The event where Bitcoin’s mining rewards are cut in half every four years.

A Halving is a built-in event in Bitcoin’s code
that happens roughly every four years.

When it occurs, the reward that miners earn
for adding new blocks to the blockchain is cut in half.

Why it happens

Bitcoin was designed with a fixed supply of 21 million coins.
By halving the mining reward every few years,
the network slows down the release of new Bitcoin —
making it scarcer over time.

Why it matters

  • Reduces the inflation rate of Bitcoin.
  • Often leads to increased market interest and speculation.
  • Has historically preceded major bull runs (though not guaranteed).

The next halving event further limits supply,
making each new Bitcoin more valuable in theory.

💡 Lanzo Tip

Many traders start accumulating Bitcoin months before a halving,
anticipating long-term price growth.
But remember — market hype often peaks before the event, not after ⚡
