Circulating Supply

The number of coins or tokens that are currently available and moving in the market.

Circulating supply means the total number of coins or tokens currently available to the public — the ones people can buy, sell, or trade on exchanges.

It does not include coins that are locked, reserved, or yet to be released (like those held by teams or smart contracts).

Why it matters

  • It’s key for calculating a coin’s market cap (Price × Circulating Supply).
  • Helps you see how rare or inflated a cryptocurrency might be.
  • More coins in circulation can mean less scarcity, which can affect price.

How to check it

  1. Look it up on CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko.
  2. Compare it with the total supply and max supply.
  3. A large gap between circulating and total supply may hint at future inflation.

💡 Lanzo Tip

Before investing, always check how much of a token is already in circulation
because a low supply now could mean big unlocks later.
